the sensor for the air intake . if im correct. isnt located on the box itself. its a grey clip beside it. so adding or removing the box wont damage the sensor. i will go check to make sure.

http://www.jeep4.0performance.4mg.com/FIPK.html Try this site, minus the K&N just substitute the spectre filter from Autozone.

I've been working on my intake. I started by scrounging an s-10 intake (I got the V6) and gluing up the hot-air-valve, which actually made it run a lot better. My advice is to at least start with a scrounged intake, and modify it to your likes. I want a snorkel in the end, but I've started by just sealing up what I can, and my mods have strangely made the car run a lot better.

that tube goes to the vacuum canister I believe. on the passenger side of the engine. follow the tube all the way there.

If you make the larger tube for the air intake out of PVC pipe you can just drill a hole in the correct position and put new attachment points for the hoses into the tube and just seal it with sealant made for that purpose. I had a homemade intake on my 1994 Cherokee but the cone filter kept getting so dirty from being exposed to water and road spray laying on the shelf I finally took it out and restored the factory filter. I guess I could have built a little sheet metal wall to cure the spray problem. I havent really noticed any performance difference since going back to the factory housing. I have one of the 99+ intake manifolds and upgraded 4 hole injectors on my Cherokee
