hitch problems
Went to install my reese hitch today only to find the mounting holes ripped out on the left rear uni-rail. Im not talking the bolts pulled through..the rail is ripped from the front mounting hole all the way to the last mounting hole nearest the bumper. Any suggestions on repairing this? The nut strip is in place on th right side. Maybe someone cut the left rail and removed the nut strip? I really don't know. Any ideas are highly appreciated.

Check this out. It may help ya. But even with this you should take it to a shop and have them weld a piece back in there.

That's what im thinking. Ill have to pull the fuel tank to get it 100% right. I have to get my hitch on to pull my 4wheeler with. Possibly going to be trading it on a rzr s before long though
I know its been a while since I posted this but I finally got my hitch installed. I fixed my problem with some 6" long 1/2" bolts. Now my hitch is bolted through the frame and the floor. Haha I am a little worried about the washers trying to pull through but I plan to keep an eye on things and see how it goes.

You should've at least boxed the rail in with C-channel, welded that plus bolt that through horizontally with long bolts and nuts. Then mount the hitch to that assembly.

Your floor was never designed to carry a load that a hitch will see. PLEASE take it to a welding shop and have them fix it. I would bet the job would cost less than you would think.
Remember If you loose a trailer your insurance WILL hold you liable for the damages since that is not a safe way to mount a hitch. Negligence is never an excuse!

The trailer im pulling is all aluminium. Im hauling a rzr s. Im going to keep an eye on things for a while before I say its 100%. I've pulled it around locally and haven't noticed any issues thus far.
