I was comin off an exit onto the Expressway today, and I put the hammer down.
Coming off the exit it and swingin my *** into traffic, I couldnt believe my eyes lookin at the gauges wondering why I was hauling *****.

I look down and Im sittin at 3000RPM and 75mph.
I know Jeeps arent built for speed or nothing, but the traffic around here moves really fast.

Why couldnt I get no faster?
I usually can get her up to 115 in no time at all.

 

I would be scared to go over 75 in my Cherokee

 

wtf 115? mine can only go to 100 and just getting to that speed from 80 is really slow. plus the fact that my speedometer only goes to 100 anyways

 

I can get up to 115 easy in my 4.0 and my speedo only goes to 85 then it starts wrapping back around again.

My buddy has a 5.2 Grand Cherokee and he gauged my top speed for me.

But trying to get her off that ramp sucked cause I almost got run off by a Cadillac..
and it cause It would gear down to climb, damn automatics

 

I cant go higher than 95 because my door starts shaking so bad it feels like it is going to fly off. Although I often find myself pushing 85 without even noticing it. My cherokee is just fast. My dads old renix however is dog slow.

 

I'm having a hard time understanding your question. Did you have the vehicle at wide open throttle and it wouldn't accelerate past 75? Did you maintain 75mph and your tach read 3,000 RPMs...Is your issue with speed, not being able to go faster, or is your issue with engine speed running at 3,000 RPMs?

 

Im at wide open throttle
Its runnin at 3000 rpms
and at 75 mph

IT just wouldnt climb no faster
Peddle to the floor and about to get run off by a caddi and a H1..

I jus stomped the gas and she wouldnt go
I got the AEM cold air kit, Accel coil and 8.8 wires installed and a complete Jones exhaust.


Why wouldnt it drop gears and push me past everyone??
