Default High pressure steering line leaking through top

Hello, this high pressure line continues to leak out the top no matter what. Can't figure out why. It is screwed in fine. Could hand tighten it a decent way then used a crows foot. It's leaking out the top of the hose not where it threads in. Maybe the hose is the issue?

As I recall it's a flared fitting similar to a brake line fitting. If you got it crooked when tightening it down, you may have mucked up the flare or the seat in the box while installing it, it's going to leak.

Lawsoncl is right, it's a flared line. Did it just start leaking or have you done other work down there?

When I changed mine, I had a devil of a time getting that hose back in. The tight quarters and sharp bends made it difficult to get the nut started without cross threading it. I think I loosened the return. Once I was confident it was on straight, I did have to use a crowfoot on a long extension to tighten it down. Hard to judge how much torque is applied when using long 3/8" extensions. Mine also leaked a bit at first and I just kept tightening until it stopped leaking.

What is the condition of the O-ring? Or is it missing?
