Just recently I started having a problem with my '87 Cherokee. Sometimes when I start the Jeep, it starts at a high idle, around 2000 rpm, and doesn't go away. Sometimes, if i shut it down and start it again a couple times, it will go away. It isn't the hugest deal because I have a manual transmission, but it still a little worrisome and annoying.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

check for vacuum leaks. start at the accumulator ball.
