Default high idle how to fix
my 96 idles around 1000 and it clunks hard into gear how can I lower it

Yeah, it should idle a bit lower than that, probably why it's clunking into gear.

Try pulling the IAC and cleaning it, also check for vacuum leaks.

remove the vacuum hoses attached to the intake manifold one per one closing the hole with the finger until you find the leak.
