Default High Beams not working

When I bought my jeep the gut told me that the high beams were not working after cicuit city had installed his radio. The radio is now out and there appears to be a connecter behind it (grey) that is broken with half the wires coming out of the plug. Not sure what this would have to do with the high beams but he told me that was the problem???

I am not even sure where it would plug in if I repared it. Any Ideas???

Hi, should have nothing to do with the high beams, there is a switch mounted right on the left side steering column that has a plug going to it and it may have been disconnected. I will try and post a pic...Tj
BTW where in Jersey are you?

Kool, I;m in Toms River. The wiring behind the radio should have nothing to do with the headlights, maybe the dash lights if anything. I would look into the high beam switch to see if its disconnected or the wires are cut...Tj

Have an extra head light bulb laying around? If so just for the heck of it put it in and check it on high beam. Lots of people replace head lights as a set and they tend to burn out pretty close to the same time I have found out. Just maybe the guy before you used his high beams all of the time and both high beam bulbs burned out pretty close to the same time
can't hurt to check

if you have a tilt steering wheel ,ahange the position and see if this helps. we had a 95, and when my son would change the tilt, the headlight problems started.

The 99 Cherokee high beam switch is built into the multi-function switch. 94 and older have the switch mounted low on the steering column with a rod that runs up to the turn signal lever.
