So it didn't die, just lost power. Maybe not consistent with a failing CPS.

Well I went ahead and replaced the fuses, didn't look blown but I went ahead and swapped them out. Check engine light came back on, ran up to autozone and it said to inspect for faulty wiring at fuse box and repair as necessary. I don't know squat about wiring, but it makes sense to me as I was working around the fuse box while doing my motor mounts. I took a peak, and saw this connector, but I can't find where it plugs in at. I included some other pictures in case you guys can pinpoint it. Not sure if I should pull the fuse box out, or just take it to a mechanic. Thanks again

I agree it could be wiring, but it could be anywhere along the oxygen sensor circuit, not just at the fuse box.

1. You said you replaced the fuses, did you replace the MINI-FUSES? It's a mini fuse that controls this circuit.

2. What brand oxygen sensors did you install?

3. If you installed quality sensors, next up would be a verification/inspection of all wiring associated with the oxygen sensors.

4. Anything wiring related can get snaky in a hurry. As you mentioned you are not mechanically (and electrically) inclined, there is no shame in bringing your XJ into a qualified shop and get a technician to troubleshoot this for you. In the long run, doing this will likely be the most efficient way to resolve this. I suggest looking for ASE technicians. ASE is not a guarantee that the tech will be better than a non ASE, but ASE technicians are trained to use a "testing based" strategy to resolve and find root cause.

I just replaced the mini fuses for the o2 sensors. I was looking today, and I finally made the call to tackle it to a shop on Wednesday next week. I'm still gonna fiddle around with it, but I imagine when I was messing around with the motor mounts I bumped a wire near the fuse box, and this caused my issue. I will make sure to get back about what was wrong, for other people hopefully. Thanks for everyone's help!

Well, the problem still isn't sorted out quite yet. The mechanic has been running some diagnostics on the o2 sensor, and the way he describes it is that it should be similar to a heart beat, however mine sometimes just dies. This would explain why it happens randomly at idle, and not all the time. He is going to look more into the wire today, and I'll check back in when I hear from him.

Have you sorted out the hiccups at idle problem?
I think I have same problem.
Please let me know if you sorted out the problem.
Thanks.

Sensor circuitry for Bank 1 are pretty close to that motor mount and it's possible you put some stress on the wires when doing that mount. Check to make sure there's no shorts or broken wires there.
