We replaced my transmission filter and all the fluid. And was still having the same problem. We started looking around the engine compartment when it was missing at idleing and saw that the clip that clips onto the TPS is actually broken. So our guess is that it could possibly be loosing connection every once in a while? Causing it to miss? We pushed it on there pretty good and she hasnt done it again since. Were hoping this is the problem. If not then we will try the fuel filter. We need to replace it anyways. So that will probably be done here pretty soon anyways.

Here recently in the morning when she is cold she will hesitate thru out acceleration and at driving range. I am not sure if it would be considered a misfire, but you can see the tack fluctuate and you can also feel that it looses power for a second or two. She will do this even after she has warmed up to operating temp. But when I get in the Jeep after work and drive it home, it drives fine? Maybe it will do it once or twice.

She has a rebuilt engine (over 600 miles on her) and the plugs are pretty new. We are going to replace the cap and rotor tonight and see if that could be a problem (it needs to be replaced anyways).

Also she has died on me a few times. Not while I am moving, but when I am going into reverse and go to shift to drive or just sitting there.

Any ideas???

Plugs, wires, coil, 02 sensor or any other sensor?

Thanks Guys!
Had a similar problem. Ran rough here and there. Sometimes on the highway it would almost die and tack would jump around. Turned out to be the crank sensor.

I read thru this thread and I don't see if you checked for trouble codes, if it's showing a trouble code for the O2 sensor, that's most likely your problem.

The problem turned out to be the sensor I mentioned before. The clip was broken causing it to loose connection when hitting a bump or romping on her. We grabbed another clip from a wrecking yard and spliced it on. Havnt had a problem sense. During this problem I never once got a check engine light, so checking codes wouldnt have helped.

Im just glad it turned out to be something simple and inexpensive!
