Exclamation HELP!?..at work

On my break today i sat in my jeep and listened to the radio for about 30-40 min. when i went to turn on my car it took a couple cranks and a light came on that said "check guages" but started up with NO check engine light (usually on) and idled at around 500 rpms the just stalled. was a little worried but started it up again and the rpms just wouldnt stay up and stalled again. The only way i can keep it running is if i give it gas at all times Any ideas what is wrong? any input would help

So which gauge did it want you to check? Battery, oil, fuel?

Never mind....didn't see part about CEL. Go to Autozone or whatever and have them scan it for you. Then write back with the error codes.

1. If your check engine light is usually on, you are doing yourself a disservice by not reading the codes. Use the technology provided to you by your Jeep.

2. The #1 symptom of a marginal battery is stalling. Load test the battery. A parts store will do this for you for free.

I had this happen last week. Either battery is lacking cca's or your alternator is not keeping your battery charged. Start there.
