Mornin! It's dark and raining & I'm not going to go out and take a pic. of my battery right now! lol. Yea it's the battery terminal connections I keep harping about. That lead oxide looks allot like lead. Shiny bright lead is what you want. That crust can be hard. Crunches a little when you scrape it off. (unlike lead which is the "butter" of metals). They really can look pretty good and still not pass much current. I meant the battery ground cable connection to the engine. Besides the bat.terminals and the connection at the solenoid that's the last that's left. Can you whack the starter while the key is turned? (safely of course). AND...you are sure it's the starter solenoid, on the starter clacking? (not a relay clicking?) Can you get your hands on a volt/ohm meter?

Just because you are showing 12 volts doesn't mean you have enough amperage..try a new battery..or take out into autozone for a load test

Another thing to check is your neutral start switch...
Put transmission in neutral and give her a try.

If the solenoid is clicking the nss is not the starting problem.

True...however, just trying to think alittle out of the box. Perhaps its not the solenoid thats clicking.
Curious to note if it was working prior to the radio theft could it be that some wiring was displaced?..Or is there any anti theft devices installed on the jeep that was disrupted and preventing jeep from turning over...Just brainstorming.

Ill be sure to go check the grounds and ill just replace the battery as its under warranty. I know i do hear the starter but my buddy says he hears a relay as well. Ive heard it a couple times, sounds almost like its a bug zapper lol but i swapped it out and it still didnt do anything for us. I tried puttin it in neutral last night and still no apples. Lol and nope, the whack-the-starter game still doesnt work even with a new one

Yea, hard to hear the relay if the solenoid is working. A few weeks ago a friend wanted me to find my horn relay......

Last summer I put one lead on the starter post, the other test lead grounded on the engine, and saw it not crank with 11+ volts there. New starter there. Like max pointed out of course it needs to ground to the engine. Does sound like you are not getting power. The new battery might not help long if there is a thin layer of crust on the inside of your battery terminal clamp.

Ill scrape out the terminal clamp when i get under there as well just to keep elimating the possiblities. Does the wiring from the starter come directly from the battery? Would jt be worth just rewiring the starter wires

The battery terminal clamp is on the battery terminal. If it's on the bottom, role the Jeep back over.

VV.... I got some of a stump stuck in my luggage rack once. Long story but I shifted into 4 on the fly and gassed out of it. Good Jeep. ....VV

So my buddy came up with the bright idea of cutting off the clamps and cutting the battery wire back and starting fresh. Turn the key and bam... We have power! Thanks for all the help guys

glad to see ya got it!

however, had one checked my post from this past summer, i replaced the ENTIRE wiring for the battery terminals and ground etc and have never had a problem again. corrosion inside the pos wire had eaten away inside the wire and caused an open (most time intermittent, but still there)
replaced and viola' !!!!

cheers!
