help. where has my voltage gone?
So i have been pinning out all over inside and outside my xj. power to my fog lamp switch is only 3.34 volts. anyone had this happen? loss of voltage at the main switch input? I was thinking about rewiring it from another source since i did find a new relay.
I am in Abu Dhabi and the nearest "parts store" is unimaginably far.
if i pulled direct from parking lights to main side of switch and then wired the relay to driving lights i should have power to driving lights under any conditions right? (i.e. high beal low beam etc.?)

Voltage low at the fog light relay socket too? Power goes from the fuse, through the relays, to the switch- then to the fogs. Work your way back and see where it's getting lost. Likely one of the two relays is bad.
You could of course re-wire the whole thing, which isn't that bad an idea. The factory setup puts the full current draw through the switch, the relays only interlock with the high beams.

what relays
i guess i could have linked a previous post. I dont have a location for my relays. it is an export vehicle. I am in the middle east. every manual, diagram, picture i can find does in no way match my underhood PDC or underdash fuse or relay panels. they seem to be intermixed. and it has become a huge issue.

solution
i purchased a new aftermarket relay. i am going to source another 12 v KOff source so i can trigger them regardless. i just need to figure out the switch. which will be easier than waiting for someone internationally with the same wiring woes as myself.
