So I'm doing some electrical work under the dash fixing the hack job of CB and driving light wiring as well as installing the harness for my ARB lockers and I ran across this. Looks like it was professionally installed but it just runs to an empty connector now (see photo). I'm planning to pull the add on harness out, but this SPDT relay was also wired in. Anybody know what this might have been and what the wires are that were hard wired into this relay? I'm guessing it might have been for an amp, but I don't know.

The relay divides a large gauge yellow wire and taps into a large gauge blue wire coming out of a connector down there. Any idea what these are or where I could find a wiring diagram that would help me out.

Yea, looks like alarm wiring to me. Your yellow wire should be your ignition wire.

 

So it definitely appeared to be alarm wiring. As was pointed out the yellow wire is the ignition wire. The relay was hooked up to disable the ignition if powered. I pulled the whole mess out and spliced the yellow wire back together. Good as new. Also gave me a convenient location to tap into switched power (big blue wire) so everything worked out okay. Thanks for the help guys!
