Sounds like you got some wires crossed up. Do both of your high beams both work, assuming this happens when you pull the high beams?

On a side note, I would have loved to seen the look on your face the first time this happened!

yup they do. i have no idea but the original owner said it was a factory safety feature and u had to pull the hi beams to start it or else the horn wil just blow. its been fine til today then it wont start and even when i pull the hi beam it just blows. lets just say its been a long afternoon! sucks its my daily driver and i already missed a day of work cuz of it.

for the time being you could just disconnect the horn. and figure it out another day.

Don,t see what year xj, phone app won,t show profile, but on the older xj factory security, you could bypass somehow by locking the doors, then unlocking with the key at the passenger door. Will look it up at home if it would help.

dude that sux. i've never even heard of having to do that. im also thinking its aftermarket. don't know for sure. put the original lights in if you can and see if it still works. if it cranks then forget the HID's. just a thought. i know its alot of work but it might help...

I did put the factory lights in got the same results. I also tried jumping the starter and bam kicked right over. Which leaves me to believe its an aftermarket thing. Theres relays with wires n wire taps at the plug also an extra ground wire to the neg batt terminal. I was just so worked up i needed to walk away and when i came back i kinda put 2 and 2 together. Which also means HIDs are going back in once this crap is fixed
