help with temp gauge
I changed the motor in my 92 Cherokee now my temp gauge won't work the temp sending unit was on the back side of the head but the new 97 motor does not have it there any help what do I do to fix this

I believe after a certain year, they started integrating the coolant temperature sensor (the one in the thermostat housing) and the sending unit. My 96 also has the sending unit at the back driver side of the block but I believe post 96, they started using a single sensor, which is in the thermostat housing, and it sends the temperature to both the gauge and the ECU. I could be wrong though.
