Ok so my buddy and I did a rear mail seal and oil pan gasket last night and today on his 98 jeep 4.0 aw4
When we were putting the oil pan back on The block were stripped one bolt up front
Right now we just put rtv in The hole and stuck the bolt in do u think it will leak?

did it strip because you over tightened it, or strip because you put the bolt in crooked. i would try just running the proper tap through it and chase the the threads theres a good chance there is enough left in there for the bolt to hold on to, make sure it's straight and take your time, then use a new bolt. if it doesn't feel like the bolt gets tight helicoil or oversizing may be the only way. oh and did you invest in a Nm/Inch-pound torque wrench.

Helicoil or re-tap.......Then buy a tq. wrench and use it on every fastener on a car going by the fastener size of stated value for that app..

Read my post yesterday on the pan bolt issue.
