That's a cake walk. I had 3 rust holes and lots of surface rust on my XJ's driver's door. Just get yourself a sander or stripping wheel for a drill like I did, some Rust-o-Leum Rust Reformer and Primer, some Bondo, sand paper, something like a wire mesh or piece of plastic, some quick steel and something to evenly spread the bondo. Very easy fix. Strip the area of all rust and paint as best as possible, then spray it with the Rust Reformer. Then get some glue and cut a piece of wire mesh or the plastic so it can sit inside the hole and provide a surface for the quick steel to sit on. Once it has dried in place, put the quick steel all around the gaps that the plastic didn't cover; it should anchor on your mesh or plastic. Once it hardens, sand it up so it is at least flush with the contour of the roof. Then apply bondo in layers, sand until even, spray with primer, and VIOLA!!

Here's the work I did on my door. I didn't get pics of the plastic I used as an anchor, but you should be able to get the just of what I'm saying. And don't get confused by the shiny gloss look of the final product because after the primer I also sprayed a couple coats of Hammered Black finish.

If you have a welder and a saw zall go to the junkyard and chop that area off another jeep. Or bend some metal to tack in there after you cut out the rust. That's not to bad of a hole. If you got those tools just do it yourself.

For my holes, I found an old empty VCR box and cut pieces from it. Use a strong glue, hold it in place ON THE INSIDE, and then just apply the quick steel. I did mine about 6 months ago, and everything is still holding nice and tight.
