Help Please!! Brake problems
My friend has a 92 4 door XJ 4.0, auto tranny. When using the brakes it wants to pull you off the road into the ditch. It has a new caliper on the right side and new rotors. Is this a problem in the booster or master cylinder or something else that I'm overlooking? I gave her my D-50 to drive as this is not safe to be on the road like this. I'm scratching my head as I don't like working on brakes at all and just about at my wits end with it. Any help is gretly appreciated. Thanks in advance.

If one side is working in the front, it has to be the other caliper or one of the hoses in my mind.
From the M/C, there is one line for the front, & one for the rear brakes.
(Actually the front line is usually the rear brakes.)
The one front brake line then gets split between the right & left sides.
If both calipers are working, then maybe the one hose has collapsed internally.
If you remove the hose(s) you could pass something through them to see if they are open. I used some grass trimmer line when i checked the clutch line on my YJ.
That line had some junk clogging it, which came out. I'm still using that line, but it's not a brake line.
If you do get something that comes out, just replace the hose. You don't want to ever take any chances with your brakes.

ok to me it sounds like if it has a new caliper on the right side. the left one is not working at all so i would change it. and see if that takes care of the problem.

yeah sounds like you have brand new brakes on oe side and crappy old ones on the other,i would start by doing the same thing on both sides, and check for any messed up brake lines.

Turns out it had a junk master and booster they had a puddle of brake fliud leaked out over night. Plus a bad line on the driver's side front. It has new brakes the whole way around it, all new lines, and a brand new rebuilt master/booster in it now. Stops like dream.
