Unhappy help please

I need help. I wan to buy a sye kit but i do not know what type of transfer case i have. I have a 1998 jeep cherokee axles are dana 30 and a dana 35 stock. I have the I6. Auto trans.

on you 4wd lever...does it go from 2wd - 4H - N - 4L...if so your transfer case is the np 231...if there is full time option it is the np242

00XJ is right but if you are still unsure then post up a pic of your center console.

I'm betting he has the NP231.

yeah thats what I have, thank you guys. Now i can go put some more money into the money pit now.

Could have also checked the round tag on the T-case...Tj
