When you say "nothing" ,is it cranking or do you hear a click, or is it really doing nothing, as like in you would not have a battery installed? Did you try starting in Neutral, or wiggle the shifter, moving it through the gears and try again to start it?
Since it starts when you jump it, it would not be the starter that has a mechanical issue, I'd say.
There are several scenarios possible, and diagnostics will show you the way
you could try reading through some of the several (hundreds) threads on this particular topic...

A recent thread mentioned "wigggling" the shift lever while turning the key to "start", which may detect a neutral switch problem, if it starts while doing the "wiggle".
Just a place to start checking....

If the problem is electrical, you wont hear any noise. Without looking at my manual, I would say that either the neutral switch or ignition switch...
In other words, the starter solenoid small terminal where you jumped it, isn't getting power through the neutral switch or ignition switch.
Since I'm new on my Jeep, I don't know ( yet) where the Ignition/start switch is located, but it's likely on the lower part of the steering column, where a link rod from the key runs down to activate it when turned to the "start" position.

Thats ok, you'll just have to do some more diagnostics.
It sounds like an electrical issue you have, rather than mechanical malfunction.
Battery is good you say. How did you test this?
Make sure your connections on the battery are shiny, clean and snug.
Next is cleaning up the grounds and connection (this is good maintenance anyway and can prevent weird electrical issues in the future
What I would do next is see if the starter actually gets voltage.
Let us know how this goes. If you have some patience and are willing to invest some time in it (diagnostics), we'll get it without throwing (too many) parts at it.
