HELP! No spark, No start. Ignition problems!
Hey guys!
First post here and I'm running into a problem with the old jeep! Other day I was wheeling out on some hills with about 1/3 of a tank of gas. Made it up the hill about half way before my Cherokee just sputtered out. Got of the hill without much problems. Tried to restart it up on flat ground and no luck. Primed the engine a few times to ensure fuel was getting into the engine, still no luck. Checked that the fuel rail had fuel running into it, checked out alright. Ensured that the jeep was getting air, checked out. Pulled a spark plug and checked the spark, nothing. Thinking I had fouled out a set of spark plugs ran to the parts store and replaced em right quick, spun it over and still no start. checked out the distributor and find out the rotor isn't spinning when its cranked over. Looked around online for some simple or obvious fixes. Found something about un-plugging the crankshaft position sensor for about 5 minutes and plugging it in, no luck. About at the end of a rope trying to figure out where the problem lies. If anyone has any suggestions or any tips on how I can isolate the problem without throwing a bunch of ignition parts at it I would greatly appreciate it! Ill be monitoring and responding to any suggestions!
