help no spark

Exclamation help no spark

98 cherokee 4.0 i6


I just changed out the coil and still no spark... I can hear the fiul pump running and it turns over just fine. But it won't start

I thank you for any help.

must fix soon so I can get to work

no spark to any of the spark plugs? or just one?

Check your cps,first unplug it and clean connector and clean pick-up on bellhousing and see if it helps,if not check resistance on terminals b and c should read very low or open.

no spark at all... ill check the cps now. where is it?

top left side of bellhousing,pita to replace,try and clean the pick-up with some electrical cleaner first and clean the connector where it plugs in.

X 2, a bad (CPS) Crank Position Sensor kills your spark timing pulse and fuel injector fire pulse so you're most likely not getting spark or fuel to the cylinders. I hope cleaning it works for you. It costs right around $80 for a new one at your friendly neighborhood Autozone store.
