help with my nightmare

Default help with my nightmare

my 89 cherokee has started to sputter like its running out of fuel. it did this before and i messed with the single wire off the starter and it would run fine. then it did it again and same thing. mess with it and it would run. well now it wont stop the sputter. the wire off of the starter connected to 2 wires that went to a box? by the battery that a cable from the positive cable runs to. im lost on this please help

The 'box'? Are you talking about your fuse box?

Clean the contacts and replace the cable if it is showing signs of corrosion

yes that relay that is pictured. so the wire off the starter that leads to that is split into 2 wires and they run to that relay. i dont know why or what but i could jiggle that wire where it split and it would stop the sputter.

Simply a poor connection somewhere. Get proactive and start doing the Tips as applicable.

Lol this. Wires and insulation get old over time. Come loose. Need to redo them is all. It's normal

No dammit, unacceptable. Something needs to get blamed. Clean one connector at a time and then start. We will flame that bad connector Bwahahahahah

well i clean the ground on the motor and then took apart and cleaned all the tar out of the box on the driver firewall. and it runs like a champ again. thanks guys
