Question Help me understand this.....

Ok I found a link here (from whom, I don't recall, but thanks to whoever it was) that let me input my Jeep VIN to get a build spec on my XJ. Well about two weeks later I got this email, and it has alot of information, most I understand, but some I don't. Please help me understand what I have....Thanks

AWE Up Country Suspension Group - (is this the Factory 1" lift?)
DJHS Dana M30/181MM Front Axle - (Ok I got the Dana 30, right?)
DMMS 3.07 Rear Axle Ratio - (good/bad/what?)
DRJP 175MM Rear Axle - ( so what type of diff. is this Dana/8.2/??)
DSAP Anti-Spin Differential Rear Axle - (does this mean it's a limited slip?)
SH8P Delete Rear Stabilizer Bar - (does that mean NO rear stabilizer?)
XEEP Fuel Tank Skid Plate Shield - \
XEFP Transfer Case Skid Plate Shield -(anygood, or should I replace them)
XEUP Front Suspension Skid Plate - /

Thanks again, My first Jeep, and obviouly I have NO clue....jeep or otherwise

all your remarks are right, not sure on the rear axle though. 3.07 is a good street gear not for the wheelin machine, good highway gear for gas mileage. The skid plates are good so your underside will not get harmed by debri from the road
do you remember the web site?

No sorry I don't...it's here in CF somewhere. I think but not 100% that it was originaly posted by either FrankZ or maybe Hommersimpson, but again not 100%

But from the discription on the rear can anyone tell what 'Type' diff. it is? Like the Dana30/35/what not.

And the 'Anti-Spin' is the same as limited slip?

Just want to Know my Jeep inside and out.

Just go look at your diff, it should have tags on the cover retaining bolts that will tell you ratio & if it is LSD. then look up a picture on the web of a D35,8.25, D44 ect.
If I remember right the 3.07 gears did not come with 4.0l moters.
Good luck with it.

175mm is a Dana 35. My build spec says the same and thats what I have.

If you want to know if that means trac lok, go look at the diff and there might be a metal tag on the outside that says it requires lsd approved fluid, or if you look inside your glove box it might still have a sticker that says it is equipped with a limited slip differential.

yay for upcountry. they arent the best plates but much better than having nothing, thats for sure.

all your other comments look accurate.

incorrect sir,

3.07 gears were stock on all xj's with the AX 15 transmission and 4.0 liter engine.

this is the ratio you have for sure if its still stock.

Thanks for all the insight. I haven't had my jeep too long, and like I stated I just got the email with the specs. I haven't done any mods to it, and as far as I know it's still all stock.

Thanks again!

I will call. Do you happen to know the years on the recall by any chance?

well mine is a 96.

there was a thread about it on here somewhere.

ill see if i can dig it up

edit: found it, https://www.cherokeeforum.com/f2/cat...-recall-34677/

looks like it just 96 for the 4.0, though I bet other years have the same problem that this recall was for anyway.
