Know anyone with a similar year XJ you can swap the ecu out of? Not worth buying one yet, but if one is available it's worth testing.

You can probably pick one up from a JY for under $30 if you can find one.

Do you have spark from the coil? Have you checked your dist cap and rotor? Reasonably cheap to replace, and if you don't know when they were last replaced it's time anyway.

ECU controls voltage, do you have spark at the coil? Replacing it doesn't mean it's getting power...

Even with a bad plug or wire it should still run. Just not well. Start with the cap and rotor.

Have you checked to see if the rotor moves while you turn the engine over?

Did you change all this BEFORE or AFTER you started having this problem? Did you change all of this at the SAME TIME? You always work on one component, then the next, and the next. Never change out multiple components at once if you can help it. This makes it harder to track down problems like this. Curiousity, does your fuel pump kick on? Do your inectors have a pulse? If your injectors arent giving a pulse either then my bet would be on the ignition switch. Check for a pulse with a "noid light".

When other members are asking you if the COIL has spark, they are not asking if you have spark at your plugs. They want you to pull the plug off the dizzy that goes from the coil to the CENTER of the dizzy cap. CHECK FOR SPARK THERE. (im sorry if I misinterpreted your response but it sounded like you were still talking about spark from your dizzy to your plugs.)

I changed them one at a time, and we had that light and checked everything, and everything had power but there was no spark still, could that mean its the ecu?
