Default Help me idnetify this part and EXACTLY where it goes.

A quick search of the number on it says its a capacitor but I have no clue where it goes or what it plugs into. Im finishing up my cyl head swap and I must have removed this piece at one point but have no memory of it.

I did some searching and this is what I came up with:

its a .47 microfarad capacitor...there are two numbers on it
it has a single wire, mounts through a bolt in the cylinder head, and has 1 single wire with a slide on plastic connector

That's all I could find, but I didn't put much effort into it.

Any connectors that look like they might fit it hangin' somewhere? Maybe around the distributor?

On pass side of block, goes over the grounding stud near the dipstick.

Just out of curiosity, what plugs into it?

I was having the same problem, it didn't fit over that stud that holds the dipstick in as I first thought where it went, but then found the new (used) engine had a bolt screwed in where the original motor used a stud with a smaller threads to slide the part above on.
