Default Help! Knocking from driver side

I have searched the forum for a similar problem, but didnt really find anything specific. I am in the 'learn as I go' catagory. For the past month or so there has been a knocking/clunking noise coming from the front driver's side. It only happens when I jostle it around on speed bumps, pot holes, and such. Of course it sounded horrible my last trip up the mountain . I have replaced the u-joints, and can't really find anything else that is really loose. My concern is its coming from the drive shaft or t-case. If it helps, I do have a 4.5" lift installed last November. Any suggestions would be great! Thanks

I had a bolt from my bumper mount hitting my shackle when I hit bumps in the road. I have a lift shackle so if you do too then look for that.

My friend's XJ had noises like that, plus what we though was a loose exhaust rattling. After two months replacing control arm bushings, u-joints, he changed the front sway bar bushings, and all of the noises went away. Weirdest thing ever.
Maybe I will change my front swaybar bushings to see if the creaking from the rear suspension goes away

List of things to check: Shock mounts, coil spring seats, control and sway bar and track bar bushings. If you dont find it there check moveable plastic stuff like your inner fender or see if the air box has broken loose.

Alright excellent, I will start replacing bushings. My sway bar bushings are pretty much shot, and the track bar has some extra movement. Thanks for all the suggestions.
