HELP! Installed Lift Today Now It Shakes

Default HELP! Installed Lift Today Now It Shakes

I installed a 4.5" lift today and put 35" tires on it and now if I go over a bump my jeep shakes back and forth and i have to slow down in order for it to stop. Help please.

Ahhhhh yes.....welcome to death wobble my friend!

Before i'd do an alignment, I would give all your front end components (tie rod ends, ball joints, trac bar..etc etc) a thorough once over....make sure there is no excessive play and nothing it obviously worn out. No sense in getting an alignment only to realize you need to replace a specific component that might require yet another alignment after.

well i plan on letting everything settle than tomorrow going through and retighten everything. So you think thats an alignment issue im dealing with

If you didnt have this issue before then yes its an alignment issue.


Anytime you change the height of a vehicles suspension then it needs to be aligned.

will any alignment place do lifted trucks or will i have to take it to a specialty shop

They should be able to set it to factory specs..

IDK I do my alignments myself, if you can take it to a specialty shop otherwise you dont have much of a choice.

well i will see what i can do. right now i wont have any money till next thursday. so in the mean time i will drive very slow. Can i lower the tire pressure at all to help stop the wobble till i can afford an alignment?

Nope wont help, always budget in an alignment anytime you lift a vehicle.

any shop with an alignment machine can align your jeep, nothing to special about it. they get to be difficult with very large rims, 20's and up, or long wheelbases, then they can require special equipment.

what is the causes of the problem. Is the toe too much in or too much out.

Check all your bolts for tightness, especially tracbar and tie rod.

Also, tires out of balance can cause dw
