help - ignition issues!

After running it some more the white smoke is BARELY present. Oil pressure is back to a "poor" status. Around 20-30, idle or otherwise. Again, I should have a mech gauge for that in the next day or so.

Oh and my heat is great now and my oil is still clean.

You're kinding!! 20-30 psi at idle. Is that hot idle, i.e., runnng the engine for some time to heat soak the engine? Min is 13 psi at idle.

Glad to see that the engine starts/runs/and the white smoke is going away.

Edit: I don't know what your outside air temps are but 5W-30 or 10W-30 is all you need.

On the other hand (tee hee), Shell Rotella T6 5W-40 is an excellent syn oil.

The pressure has been really strange. it's back down to around 13 at idle. It was dropping to 0 at an idle when it got hot.
Still just flirts with 30 around 2000rpms - never touches 40 except on a cold start, which it stopped doing until the coil fix (???)

I did my RMS and pan gasket 2 weeks ago when I originally started to look at problems. I was loosing a lot of oil from those 2 spots and it's running better.. had i known better before I put it all back together I would have a least looked at my bearing caps. =/
I know the seal and gasket won't help pressure but it will keep oil in the engine lol because I was loosing almost a qt a week!

I've had my xj for almost 4 years and I'm starting to do a lot to it. And slowly finding out whoever worked on it before was a total dumb a s s.

This might be why I have hvac issues lol
