Default Help identify mystery plug..

So I have his loose wire underneath the xj. It comes over the transfer out the passenger side, I'm not sure what it's for, the only thing I see on the d/s of transfer case is the speed sensor.

Hopefully my description was clear enough!

4wd indicator? I've never seen an O2 sensor that looks like that. Your speedo is driven by a gear on the T-ase.

I may be wrong but I've never seen a plug style like that on any XJ. Could it be something aftermarket? Where does the wire come from?

Quite sure its a downstream o2 sensor. I just rewired mine 2 days ago and thats the exact place it comes from. Are you missing a downstream sensor?

Downstream o2 on an obd1? This is a 95 btw. I'm not sure since it goes per the tcase, I don't see it come out the other side, maybe it comes down the trans tunnel. It has more wires than the speedometer plug on the other side so I'm not sure if that's the other end to the speedo

I dont think thats an O2. O2 sensor is suppose to have 3 wires Im pretty sure and the plug is different.
