on my 2001 cherokee ive noticed up on my manifold I have two large canisters before my 02 sensor and of course the catalytic converter next to trans before the muffler.. are the 2 large canisters on my manifold catalytic converters also? if so. that makes 3 catalytic converters on my single exhaust system... any reason for so many cats if thats what is on the manifold?!

 

I think all 2001's had California emissions. That means two mini cats and 1 cat under the car. There are two O2 cats upsteam, for banks 1-3 and 4-6. Also 2 O2 sensors downstream on the mini cats. No o2 sensor on the big cat under the jeep.

Blame California.
