Default Help to identify axle?

I just bought a '94 cherokee with a 5speed and the 4.oL inline 6. On the rear axle there is nothing on it except a stamp in the case side that reads "42513". can anyone tell me what this means? I need to change the front and want to make sure I get an axle that will match the gears in the rear. There are no tags on the rear diff that tell what gears are in it just the stamp. Any insight that anyone has in this would be a big help. Thanks in advance.

P.S. I think the rear axle is a D44 from what I have seen on here from search for what the different axles look like this is the one that looks the most like what I have.

ya its the 44 but is there any way I can tell if this was the original axle or if someone changed it? When I bought it the guy said it had 4.56 gears but I dont think so because it has 31's on it and in 5th gear at 60-65 im at around 2500 rpms.

Think you better start counting teeth. Don't think that guy was all that honest. And pretty safe to say rear axle is not stock.

definitely not the original axle, D44s were only stock in XJs from 87-89 and in those, they are extremely rare.

remove the cover. on the edge of the ring gear is a series of numbers. you want to divide the last set. so for instance, it ends in 45-11. if you divide 45 by 11, you get 4.09. so obviously, those would be 4.09:1 or 4.10's.
