the antenna is tight and i know its not the antenna because it only does it when the vechicle is started, which grounds would you suggest to check first or to start with

dont get all hot and bothered, there was good reasoning behind my question. I can't tell you how many systems i've seen that were supposedly "professionally installed" but were actually just an extremely overpriced hack job. I've even seen vehicles leave with speakers disconnected and sometimes even the antenna disconnected. It's very easy to leave off a ground when you're doing an entire system. That's why i install all my systems myself. If it is a 6 grand system that was professionally done i would take it to the professional and tell them to make it right. But if he's your good friend like you said i would just give him a call and you both check all the grounds until you find the one that is'nt connected

:P

Chill out brother, neither one of these guys was attacking you. Two simple comments, one asking if you installed it and the other stating if another shop did it and if they are professionals they should be able to resolve it. You will get a ton of help on this board but not by taking offense to questions and comments. I would try to ground the unit directly to the body if you have it connected to the factory ground. Then I would just try to rewire the entire unit and bypass the factory wiring. Or remove the whole unit and have the connections tested.

x2 its hard to realize how someone takes something that's typed instead of hearing it said. Try to take things in the best possible way, as most time we're pouring help in your glass not hatorade.
