Default **Help** Back 2 botls on pan

Can anyone give me some advice on how to get these 2 bolts off.. They are the back 2 bolts on the pan. I am trying to replace the pan gasket but there is some type of rubber guard that is in the way. Her are 2 pics..

If it's rubber and it's outside of the sealing junction then cut it away to provide tool clearance on the last 2 pan bolts or else loosen the offending fasteners to relieve it before yuo have to cut it away. Make a mental note to investigate why it's outside of the sealing junction - is it squished from overtightening? If yes, then plan to replace it next.

Are you sure there are bolts hiding behind it?

Is that it? A tooling issue? Or is it because you cannot get your socket over the bolt head due to rubber interference? If due to interference then push harder or tap with hammer because the rubber should deflect.
