Recent thread as all other info. Just need some help troubleshooting this.

Installed new alt is one of the red postives supposed to come off the battery onto the alt? I just followed what wiring it was before. Wiring is negative grounded to fender other negatve grounded under ignition coil. Red postive one leading to solenoid other leading to power distribution box then a black and white wire comes off power distribution box onto the alternator.

This is on a 99 jeep cherokee sport recent thread is updated with whats going with my over charge issue.

 

Look under your battery and see if the battery temp sensor is connected. Not sure what it does but its there for a reason

 

Yeah it is new and replaced. Pretty sure I need a new computer now it shuts off when the airs on. I press on the brake and engine light comes on. But there is no cable coming from alt to battery. It goes to the power distribution box then to alt

 

And its a black and white wire that comes off the alt
