help on 91 xj.
well i bought a 91 xj with the front axel bent. so i bought a parts xj which was the same model,year,color, but it was a lareado(sp?). when i took the front end out of the parts one i has a box type thing with vaccumme lines and a two wire plug in on it. but mine dosent. can someone explain to me what that is? and will it work on mine.

well can i just take the guts out of my current axel and install it in the other one? the only part that is bent on the current one is the tube the axel is in and the mounting points. any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thats the vaccuum front disconnect though I am suprised yours didnt have it if they were both 91s. It disengages the axle shafts from each other allowing it to spin more freely. I think 91 was the last year so perhaps your parts truck is an early 91 and your is a later 91 when they starting using the non disconnect axles. The later axles are preferrable.

91's with the 242 t-case does not have the vacuum disco but the 91's with 231's have he vacuum disco. What you probably should have done it his up a JY got a front axle off a newer model.
