Pressure will fluctuate a bit, as long as there is pressure should be fine. If she's running a bit warm that will thin the oil a bit which will lower oil pressure.

Oil filter design can affect oil pressure, here's a good thread on oil filters:
https://www.cherokeeforum.com/f2/oil...-things-74433/

I can not find an idler pulley bolt @ Advance on-line but if you have a good hardware store near you they should be able to match the bolt.

Yes you should be ok driving home as long as the belt is tight enough to run the alternator. I hope your boy is ok..... I've been to the ER with my daughter a couple times.... not fun!

re the back flush kit, I have seen the plastic cap fail after a year, I would return it if you have not used it. I would Just use the 'Prestone® Super Radiator Flush' and drain from the lower radiator hose (when it's cool) and pull the thermostat and use your garden hose through there and reflush the heater core (both directions) again.

Check the belt tension by pushing on the belt midway between two pulleys. If two pulleys are less than a foot apart, the belt should deflect only about 1/4 inch. Between two pulleys more than a foot apart, the belt may deflect up to 1/2 inch. If the belt easily deflects more than these amounts, increase belt tension until it is within these limits.
If the belt is old it will not drive the pulleys correctly because of the hard slippery belt surface and it will squeal like a pig.

My mom's van was doing the same thing! Found out it was an air pocket in the system. Used a vacuum tool and put in new coolant. Heat works great and engine stays nice and cool.
