What do i do if a seller on here hasn't shipped the stuff i bought when they said they would ship them almost a week ago and now don't respond.. I paid with paypal.

 

Open a case on paypal. Hope you did not gift the cash.

it was only $30.. But im in college so thats a hefty amount to just lose when i only make $250 every 2 weeks... Yes he is a member. His username is CummingsCherokee

 

Not really worth a mail fraud claim, not sure what PayPayl will do for you for that number as a gift.

Weird things happen to people. If it's only been a week that's not really long enough to demonstrate bad intent. I suggest getting in touch with a moderator.

Also this isn't exactly OEM tech...

PM a moderator and let them know. Also, you can easily open a case with paypal. I'd give the guy a little bit more time to respond, then take further action. People get busy around the holiday season, so maybe that's the case.

This is a $30 lesson for you. You got off a lot cheaper than most people who fall victim to the PayPal gift scam. Don't EVER pay for merchandise with the gift option, because doing so disqualifies you from PayPal's purchase protection. If you had paid for it as merchandise, you could open a case with PayPal, and you probably would have gotten your money back.

If a seller insists on having you send the funds by gift, that's a huge red flag that they're trying to scam you. Some will claim they don't want to pay the PayPal fees. If they're really worried about the fees, they can simply raise their price to cover the fees. So that's no excuse. I won't do business with someone who insists on receiving money via gift. Many of the car community boards actually prohibit it in their buy/sell sections.

As for what a moderator can do, not much, other than slam down the ban hammer on the other member so that he can't sell on the board under that name.
