mind is already set on hellas due to kc's being crappy. my question is, i want the most off road light as possible for around $150, and whether to get for or driving lights, whats the difference?

Fog lights give a more spread out light pattern and driving are going to be long range. I am running a set of Hella 450's(fog) with 100w bulbs and will soon have my Hella 500's(driving) with 100w bulbs installed so I will have it all covered.

get driving lights.... I have two pairs of driving lights and one pair fogs. Only with the 55watt bulbs. Fogs barely seem to do anything for me. Get the driving lights and the 500's too. I have both the 500's and the 550's. I like the 500's more! seem to spread the light pattern a lot better.

 

Depends where you are going to mount them an how many you want. if you are going to mount 4 on the roof like my friend did then my suggestion is get a set of each, and put the 2 driving lights in the center, and the fogs on the outside, and you will light up and see everything when they are on. if you are just putting 2 on the bumper though, id say driving lights.
