Hella 500's+mounts
I snagged these Hella 500's for $50 on ebay(wiring harness kit too). Anyway, I liked the Howler pillar mounts, but was not too keen on drilling holes in my pillars and possibly compromising the water tightness of my cab(no offense Howler). So, being a constant thinker, I bought these 6"x6" L brackets from home depot. I re-bent them to an S shape and am using the bolt from the front fender+ a ss sheetmetal screw to hold em' in place. I have my hood shimmed, but with a lil' creativity it might work with a non shimmed hood. There is a lil' sheetmetal tab on the firewall that has to be cut with tin snips and folded back. I love the look and can't get over how bright the Hellas are! I couldn't be happier! All comments welcome and appreciated...even decapitation ones!(shimmed hood)

Thanks man! These lights will burn the retinas out of the deers eyes. I can't imagine having 5 or more of these bad boys. Don't even use my brights anymore. I'd like to get another set eventually.

The lights are 500 regs. What does the ff stand for? They were easy to fab. I put em' on the ground like an a-frame to spread em', sledged em' til I had the right slant/angle, put em' in a vise and whacked the bracket the opposite way. I then had to do the usual fit,alter,fit,alter,etc.. They are stable too.

not too bad of a setup i'm running 4 on the rack.. prolly gonna copy your setup if you don't mind but i will totally give props to you if some of my buddies ask about it.... don't worry i'm not an idea pirate haha lol
i'll tell ya one of mine that i came up with...
take a rear speaker bar and install it toward the front of the headliner....where the other cab light is.. right above the seats.. performs great, delivers great sound....
you could have taked a cut-off wheel and just notched a 1" slice from the hood intsead of completely leaving the back-half of your hood up like that

That's cool MJXJ! I like the sound bar idea. I figured share the wealth of ideas w/ others. I've gotten sooo many cool ideas from this site, puttin' back in is a good thing. Best part, the brackets are like $3 a piece. Save my $ for more Hellas! Those 4 on top have to throw some major light!!
