Heatingradiator replacement: that much work?
How many hours of labour is reasonable to be charged for changing the heating radiator in a 2001 Cherokee Classic 4.0L?
My car has been in the service shop for over three days now.
I know it's not the easiest of jobs, i heard the whole dashboard has to come off, but i'm affraid the hours are stacking up way too much.
Since i'm no expert, can someone enlighten me?

well took me about 8 hours to replace the heater core in my 1998 so do the math. normal shop charges about $50 to $60 an hour so....i got quoted around $800 for labor by a shop before i decided to do it myself. pretty outrageous for a $150 fix...

For what it is worth, here are the times from my Nichol's Chilton Labor guide:
Heater Core R&R
Cherokee
1981-1985 2.0
1986-00
w/o A/C 4.9
w A/C 5.1
The formatting screw up when I posted. The last number in any line is the hours for that vehicle.

ya id like to see a heater core replacement go that smooth but in all reality it never does. most of the manuals ive seen call for the removal of the entire dash and steering column just to get to the climate control box that the core sits in...
