Default Heater Vent Control Issue

I just replace the heater core in my 87 4.0 Cherokee. However now the selector for which area its targeting does not work. I can hear clicking from the vaccum solenoids that are attached to the box and perhaps something inside the heater box. The only air seems to gently blow out the defrost despite the setting. The fan speed does still work. It looks like everything is connected correctly. Anyone else experience this or have a potential solution? There was one electrical connection that I didn't see the corresponding female connection for (has two wires to it) but am not entirely sure it was even connected before.

Need to make sure the vacuum switch has vacuum to it and that it is on all the way. Also make sure the vacuum lines to the actuaters are still in place.
