Heater doesn't blow but A/C does?

Tried seaching a ton on this but all I can find is people who have a problem where the heater and AC only work on a certain speed, but I'm having what seems to be a different problem.

I turned on the heater yesterday morning and i heard a weird nose that seemed to be coming from the firewall/heater core, I can't exactly describe the sound, i guess it was a couple knocks or something similar, but the heater was still working, after a bit I switched it over to the window defroster setting, and it was doing that just fine, but it was when i went to move it back into the heater setting that it wouldn't blow at all, it basically is now the same as window defroster.

The A/C works fine on all settings and speeds, while the heater just blows heat out of the vents near the window on top of the dash.

any ideas, or areas to check?

I'm not sure I understand.. if your vents work with the ac, they should work with the heater. I don't think there is a way for it to work on one, but not the other. The vent selections (defrost, ac, max ac, floor, vent) are vacuum adjusted. The temp (blend door) is cable adjusted.. if something was wrong with the vacuum somewhere, it would affect both ac and heat selections.. ?

Thats why I'm confused, maybe it's something with the selection slider? Heat and window defrost are right next to each other.

So that is where you're referencing "when I put it on heat, it only blows from the window"

Put the slider on red and the selector on vent.

The "heat" selection is for the floor vents. (At least that's where mine starts blowing)

Hmm, I've always used heat for the heater, maybe I've been doing it wrong lol, I'll let you know in a bit.

Well I just now tested it, vent seems to be working, and the Heat does infact turn on the floor vents, maybe my slider has been messed up this whole time.

After messing around with the slider, I noticed it now actually clicks in place on each setting, before it never did this, and I dislodged what I think maybe have been a small piece of plastic that was stuck.
