Default heater/Defrost problems

I am having problems with my defroster when it is on High, It will kill the engine unless the engine is above 2k.

I think it might be the motor just wanted some others options.

Are you having other electrical issues like your headlights dimming at Idle speed, door locks taking several attempts, or power windows running real slow? Check your charging system to make sure it's putting out 13-14 v while running. If the blower motor was shorted out bad enough to draw enough amps to kill the engine at <2K RPM you should be popping that fuse like a firecracker. Pay close attention to your battery cables, Are the ends the quick fix bolt on type? The cables may be corroded far enough up the cable to be useless...

what size fuse do you have in the blower motor circuit? Do you have access to a volt/ohm meter? Have you looked at the voltage output while running. and current draw with the heater off and on high?

I realy do not think it's you blower motor! You would be popping the fuse not killing the jeep. Something's up with your charging system being just stong eneough to keep you running until you add that last straw. Take it buy a parts store and that will check your charging system for free...

Are you talking about the rear-window defroster, or the defrost setting on your HVAC?

If it's the latter, then does it do it when you put it on A/C mode? If so, your A/C compressor is probably seized or getting ready to. The defrost setting on your HVAC turns your compressor on.

I think you have it there! Talk about tunnel vision, I wasn't even thinking of that... Good job P2R!
