Default Heater Core Replacement

Hey I know this has been talked about frequently on this forum and I was wondering if anyone had taken the time to do a step by step thread with pictures that focuses on how to dismantle the dash. I need to replace mine and was trying to figure out if i could learn from anybody else's mistakes. I dont think its going to be too much of a headache besides the time investment. If anyone has any advice or knows where to find it, it will be greatly appreciated.

Search on Naxja there was a thread about it.

Make sure to do the evap while your in there.

First time I did it took me and a buddy about 10 hours with a few trips to the parts store.

One thing most manuals tell you to remove the steering column but the dash can be slid over it.

PM me if you have any ?'s.

I did mine about a month ago and followed these instructions, I did it without removing the steering wheel also. Make sure to remove both front seats, it will be much easier.

I figured it out - it just involved adjusting the tilt in a way that, for some reason, was very non-intuitive to me.

The Haynes manual was, as usual, no help at all.

I've got it back together well enough to drive to work, but I'm showing a "Check Engine" light that I want to get checked out before I put the rest of the trim on. It might be related to a 2-wire plug underneath the dash that I absolutely can't find a socket for...

This one's been a real PITA. I'm happy to have gotten as far with it as I have before the I finished the weekend.

On the check engine light, the same thing happened to me, I think that my dashboard gauge box wire plug wasn't completely connected to the other plug. Make sure all of the plugs are connected properly.

If its not leaking just flush it out. A shop quoted me $900 to replace the heater core cuz it was badly clogged. I told them to F off!! So I went home and unclogged it myself and have had good heat ever since.

My heater core was leaking and stop leak had no effect. I had my heater core and A/C evaporator replaced at a local shop for $700 out the door. I dropped it off at 7AM and picked it up at 5 PM and everything was good to go. I just didn't want to deal with all that was associated with doing it myself, plus I got a warranty.
