Default Heated seat help

I drive a 2000 Jeep Cherokee LTD and I have heated front seats. My problem is that the driver seat heated seat doesn't work and the passenger seat does. Anybody have this issue or have any ideas?

Thanks

Did you ever resolve this? I'm experiencing the same issue 'cept it happens to be 10 degrees outside.

Yes, the driver side seat LED's flash on and off then turn off completely. The passenger side works great.

The LED's on the drivers switch are telling you the problem. If both HI and LO flash then the heating element is shorted. If the HI is flashing but the LO is off then the element is open circuit. If HI is off but LO is on then the sensor is faulty.

My '97 GC Limited has three-position slides (off/low/high) not toggles. My service manual skips the topic of heated seats. Is there another built-in diagnostic tool for this problem?

My 01 Limited had the same problem. I took the seatcover off partially and saw a black burned spot on the foam. The heated seat wire was broken there so I just soldered in a jumper wire and all is warm and toasty again! Only took about an hour total.

what does it mean if the element is a open circuit? and how is that fixed? Took the seat out and partually removed the seat cover. No burnt wires. Do I need to get to the heating elements and look at those?

Yessir! Your local car ulpholstery shop will most likely install them, anywhere from cheap on off ones to 3 levels of heat with auto shutoff I think it's like $40-60 per seat now if only I could convince my dad to let me learn how by putting some in my seats (he owns a small shop)
