I have a 01 XJ Limited, with a non operative drivers heated seat. Just took to dealer to have it fixed, and was informed it was the ELEMENT. Great, but unfortunately Jeep/Dodge does not make the Element anymore, so I'm screwed. They said try Junk Yards, NO LUCK. I was wondering if a 99-04 WJ element would swap to my XJ. Also can I say I hate searching anything for my cherokee, IT's NOT A Grand! gurr. Thanks for any help!

Crysler makes a complete stand alone heated seat kit that is fairly universal, but prob a wj kit would work, ask a dealer for the recall repair kit,it should be cheap, try a 04 wj....
Good luck

I went to princess auto (from what people describe of it on the forum, i think its similar to harbor freight) and picked up 4 heated element pads for like $15 a piece. Id check any auto surplus stores, you might luck out. My 97 didn't come equipped, so i took the upholstery off the seats, installed them and hardwired them.

Ok, so the 01-04 WJ should work, or an aftermarket, I just don't want to install new switches. When Dodge was done with the Jeep they said they do no have Elements for ANY Jeep, meaning if a 11 rolled off the lot and came back 15 minutes later with the seat not working, they wouldn't be able to fix that one either...Oye, thanks for the help guys!

Just tried Princess Auto, no luck, I tried entering in about every way to enter a heated seat element, no luck. I hope I can try the recall kit, or the stand alone.
