Default Heat valve ?

Mine broke and rather than replace it I'm wondering how those here who are eliminating it are stopping coolant in to the heater core so that their a/c will work.

DON'T! Just eliminate it. No ill effects. Take this from a guy with 3 Jeeps in Arizona.

But my a/c worked yesterday just fine as usual. Now w/o that valve I've got HOT air when I turn on the a/c. From what I can find out by searching that valve is activated when the a/c is turned on stopping coolant flow into the core. LUCKILY it came apart at the house. Not so luckily I've heard the replacements are hit and miss as far as getting one that don't leak.

Yep,just checked it out. Out of adjustment? The cable/clip was off the rod. Didn't see the fastener anywhere but probably have one in the garage.

Guess I will mention I found a metal 4 port heater control valve.

Oh it's history! Never doubted y'all. I was just trying to figure out what I was missing. Also went and routed the hoses away from the valve cover.
