just flushed the core and heater control valve it blows barely warm but when i set the top to heat you can hear the blower working but it doesnt come out anywere. I also think my thermostat is stuck open because its a 190 but it only gets to 210 if im sitting in traffic for a while it sits at like 170 on the gauge

i just did a radiator flush and replaced my thermostat with an oem 195, and installed an anuto-meter water temp gauge. i added an e-fan and hot wired it to the battery and have a switch in the cab so i control when it turns on and off. this fixed all of my cooling problems. the thermostat is kina hard to get to theres a bolt on the bottom of the housing that is behind the belt. use special water pump/thermostat housing sealant-i learned that the hard way. and buy a new gasket for the water outlet as well. now my temps never get over 200. hope this helps.

also if its heating up while your sittin still in traffic but its okay when your goin fast that means your fan isnt pullin enough air most likely a bad fan clutch if you still have mechanical fan i switched mine to dual e-fans its much better.
no worrys with the cooling system, 210 in traffic is just fine, the AUX fan cuts in at what should be 230. after you reach 260 you should concern. Thermostats rarely go bad.
as for the heater not blowing hot, make sure the Heater Control Valve vacuum lines aren't leaking.

you check the fan by getting it to normal temp shut the motor off and spin the fan by hand if it spins more than one turn the fan clutch is shot

Well I checked the fan and it only turns about half way with the engine completly warmed up. Its quite cool today but I noticed every time I came to a stop the temp needle went up. And I mean I only stoped for 4-5 seconds. I'm not driving it hard and its never behaved like this so I'm a little worried. What could it be?? All of the cooling system was redone except for the heater core and the fan about 6 months ago. Ideas??
