Default Heat-Blending of vent and floor possible?

I noticed my 99' does not have the vent/floor blend setting on the rotary switch. Would any other jeep/vehicle heat/a-c switch work in its place? I'v tried to run the switch in the "in between" settings, but that does not work. It's cold here and sucks to have to chose from cold feet or hands.

I too wish that setting wasn't only available for AC. Then again, since my AC doesn't work, it basically works the same way..lol

You can temporarily deactivate the AC system so you can use all selections on the mode selector.

Remove the electrical connector from the Low Pressure Cycling Switch on top of the AC Accumulator, tape the connector and switch openings and secure the connector harness. This will deactivate the AC system

You won't have AC to assist in defogging but the compressor wouldn't engage if the outside air temp is below 30*F anyway.

CCKen-Dang. That is a great tip! I'm in CT and won't need my AC for at least several months. Thanks!

Negative....a/c is needed for de-fog only (moisture on the inside of the wind shield), not de-frost. De-frost (moisture/ice on the outside of windshield) will dissipate quicker without the a/c compressor engaged.

Obviously AC is not "needed" otherwise cars without AC wouldn't be able to de-frost-fog or any of that. I have many cars without AC and have never had issue de-frosting or de-fogging etc.

Agreed.

I was just wondering why rzldzl thinks AC is needed for defrost.

My AC hasn't worked in several years (same as disconnecting the low pressure switch) and I haven't had any problems. I do enjoy the ability to use Recirc and Bi-Level with heat only.

Whoops, I meant the fog on the inside. I just wipe it with my gloved hand! ANyone have a mod to install some interior wiper blades? Ha ha ha.

Good to know I can use that w/ the heat & bilevel!

I need to fix my blower motor. Engine noise, full blast fan & the radio gets pretty loud
